MEXICO

With 9,330 kms of coastlines, this country has long been famous for its beautiful beaches. But if you step outside of the all inclusive resorts, you will discover that there is so much more to this fascinating country.

Its culture reflects the country’s complex history, incorporating indigenous cultures and the culture of Spain. Ancient ruins, colonial cities, cultural festivals and plenty of nature reserves, there is something for every traveller in this enchanting place.

Ranking first in the Americas (and seventh internationally) for number of UNESCO protected World Heritage sites, history buffs can immerse themselves in pre-Columbian cultures within the country’s archeological sites. This country is home to Chichén Itzá- one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. The influence of the Spanish can also be explored in the historic main squares of its major cities.

Boasting no less than 10 protected cultural practices on UNESCO’s list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, it is undeniable that this country’s culture is truly rich and distinctive. The list includes Día de Muertos celebrations, Mexican cuisine, and mariachi music, which UNESCO added in 2008, 2010, and 2011, respectively. This country truly is a feast for the senses.
