Serving as a serene oasis in a rather volatile region of the world, this country is one of my all-time favourite adventure destinations!
Visitors can enjoy diverse landscapes of this beautiful nation. Get immersed in the otherworldly beauty of the Wadi Rum nature reserve, the underwater treasures of Aqaba on the Red Sea or the mineral-rich Dead Sea – the lowest point on Earth.
Exploring this compact kingdom, history buffs would recognize names of biblical places as many of them can be encountered here. Some of the best preserved archaeological sites of the Roman Empire can be found in Jerash and downtown Amman. There are also citadel ruins built by the Crusaders that dot the country. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that the ancient city of Petra – one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, can be found in the south.
The citizens of this country are world renowned for their hospitality. Founded in a centuries-old nomadic culture from their Bedouin ancestors, hospitality is an integral part of life here.
You really do need to see this country to believe in the treasures therein.
