BOLIVIA

Much of this country isn’t set up for tourism- but that is a huge part of its appeal! Intrepid explorers would be rewarded with otherworldly landscapes, colourful local customs, and unique experiences.

This country truly is a place of extremes! The world’s highest navigable lake, as well as the world’s highest capital city can be found here. From the snow capped peaks of the Andes, to the arid salt flats of Uyuni, to the sweltering Pantanal – there is a surprise at every turn in the 5th largest country in South America. Deep scars from colonial rule are still evident in certain aspects of everyday life but the prevalence of women in indigenous dress on the streets of La Paz also speaks to the recent progression and resilience of a nation.

For those looking to truly go off of the beaten path, look no further than this landlocked South American nation.
